Seeing the Past with Computers: Experiments with Augemented Reality and Computer Vision for History will be out this month from the University of Michigan Press. There are many people to thank:
- At the beginning of the project, Bill Turkel, who helped author the notion of “seeing the past with computers;”
- In the early stages, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, Brock University, and the University of Ottawa, which helped fund the project;
- Through the middle, Karen Flindall, who helped organized the conference where this book came together, and the contributors, who constantly challenged what it meant to “see the past with computers;”
- In the latter half, my co-editor Tim Compeau, who started as a collaborator, became a Postdoctoral Fellow, and finally a co-editor; without Tim this project never would have come to completion;
- In the final stages, to the good people at the University of Michigan Press, who continue to carry the banner for Open Access and Online.
